MIC comes to Rome in 2022
The hugely popular Mutual Insurance Conference is back after two Covid-19 years and will be organized in the eternal city of Rome. The event will take place on October 24th at the campus of the Luiss University.
Building on its’ unique concept, the MIC brings together the leaders of the insurance industry, scientific thought leaders and students to discuss current issues related to mutual and cooperative insurance industry. In this, the MIC answers to the great demand of strengthening and facilitating the interaction, debate, and collaboration between science and practice.

Collaboration with ICMIF centenary conference
This year’s MIC will be organized in conjunction with International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation’s Centenary Conference (25-28 October 2022).
We truly encourage every MIC participant to also register for the ICMIF conference and enjoy the whole week of the highest level program. When choosing the conference combo of MIC + ICMIF, the participants will experience the full takeaway of the academic atmosphere and debates, mixed with practical experiences, perspectives and networking.
The MIC program
The conference program includes top-level keynotes, stimulating panels and inspiring presentations from insurance industry leaders, academic thought leaders, and representatives of the younger generation students.
In addition, the event will contain chosen presentations of 2-3 scientific conference articles related to the theme. The scholars with an academic background will present their most interesting results with a focus on the managerial and practical takeaways.

Call for papers

For the first time in its’ history, MIC has opened a call for scientific conference papers. Among these papers, 2-3 will be chosen to get presented in the MIC conference. In the presentation, the scholars should put emphasis in presenting the most interesting results with a specific focus on the managerial and practical takeaways.
All the submitted papers will be further taken into considerations in a Special Issue in one of the most prominent and oldest Italian scientific economics / business journals ‘Rivista Bancaria, Minerva Bancaria’. The Special Issue will be guest edited by Professor Jakša Krišto, PhD, jkristo@efzg.hr.
THE ICMIF YOUNG SCHOLAR AWARD
10.000€
The International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation has established a new award of 10.000 euros for the most promising young scholar in the field, with an aim to encourage young scholars to get involved in studying the influence of mutual and cooperative form in insurance. The winner will be chosen among the young scholars submitting their conference article in the MIC (see the call for papers above), or optionally a recently published sceintific article (2020-2022), a research plan of their PhD thesis, or a research project plan that relates to cooperative and mutual insurance. The ICMIF Young Scholar Award will be a personal reward for the scholar!

Yes, on Monday 24th October there will be a free bus transportation organized between the Rome Marriott Park Hotel (ICMIF venue) and the Luiss University campus (MIC venue). This enables a convenient arrival and departure for the people who accommodate at the Rome Marriott Park Hotel.
All students should bring a validating document with them when entering the event (student identification card).

The history and concept of MIC
The Mutual Insurance Conference (MIC) is an annual event bringing together some 130 leaders of the insurance industry, scholarly thought leaders and students to discuss and debate on the pressing issues of mutual and cooperative insurance sector. The event is always organized in the campus of a local university partner. This creates the MIC’s unique academic and relaxed atmosphere and provides the best possible environment to mix debates from academic and practical starting points.
