Ingrid Omerzo has graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb, study program Finance. She has started her career in the Croatian Bureau of Statistics. The topic of her Thesis was Development perspectives of the mutual financial institutions in the Republic of Croatia. Ingrid is involved in writing scientific and research papers related to mutual and cooperative financial institutions.
Marija Mušec has been practicing law since 2001. She is a partner at Law Firm Bardek, Lisac, Mušec, Skoko in cooperation with CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz. Marija specializes in insurance, intellectual property, life sciences, and public procurement matters. She heads the local firm’s relevant teams. Her practice spans both contentious and non-contentious issues, regulatory and commercial work.
Marija advises clients across a wide range of industries, including consumer products, information technology, high technology, engineering, and pharmaceuticals. She acts as a legal advisor of local governments across Croatia in public procurement matters the scope of which includes procurement of energy efficiency services.

Tanja Broz is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Economics, Zagreb. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics and an MBA in Finance and Marketing. Her main research areas include international economics, optimum currency areas, and SME financing. Hrvoje Filipović is a Senior Manager of the Financial Services and Risk Management Department in EY Croatia. Filipović is particularly interested in areas such as capital and business optimization, reinsurance, process restructuring, value assessments, and regulatory requirements. Since 2007, Hrvoje Pauković has been the Managing Director of the Croatian Insurance Bureau – insurance industry association in Croatia. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in Rijeka, where he later earned his Master degree in Law. After working as an attorney at law, he started his insurance career in 2001 at the largest Croatian insurance company Croatia osiguranje d.d. and was appointed Manager of Legal, Human Resources and General Affairs Department in 2004.
He is a guest lecturer on the Faculty of Law in Zagreb and Rijeka, and lecturer on University College Effectus for Law and Finance in Zagreb. He is a member of the Executive Committee of Insurance Europe, the Management Committee of the Council of Bureaux, where he also served as a Vice President). He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Croatian Employers’ Association, the Financial Business Association and the Working Group for implementation and monitoring of the National Road Safety Program (Croatian Ministry of the Interior). He is also the President of the Croatian Association for Insurance Law, the national branch of AIDA International.
After graduating from the Faculty of Economics and Business – Zagreb (module Finance, banking and insurance), in 1994 she started her career at Helios Insurance d.d. as an Associate in insurance sales. Since 1997, she has held several managerial positions, such as Executive director, Director of Sales department and Life insurance department at Allianz Zagreb d.d., and from 2004 to 2010 in Merkur Insurance d.d. she managed the Health insurance department.
In March 2010, Marić was employed at Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (HANFA) in the Supervision sector, and as a Deputy Director of the sector. In September 2012, as Chief advisor in the Insurance sector, she was responsible for Solvency II implementation, internal co-ordination for work with EIOPA and the European Commission, and participated as an expert in the work of the Council of the European Union. She is an authorized internal auditor and possesses the compliance officer title. During her work at HANFA, Mrs. Marić also participated in the Twinning projects. She contributed to the insurance aspect of implementing the European Directive on insurance distribution to the Croatian legislation through the Act on amendments to the insurance law. As a representative of HANFA in the working group, she assisted in the implementation of the IORP II Directive to the Croatian Act that regulates pension insurance companies.
Since November 2018 she has been managing the Sector for the supervision of insurance, leasing and factoring as its’ Director.
Antti Talonen holds a Ph.D. in insurance science from the Tampere University and acts as a postdoctoral research fellow. His doctoral dissertation focused on mutual insurance companies and was one of the first ones written on the topic. In cooperation with prof. Jakša Krišto, Talonen has been studying mutuality and its’ impact in CEE countries, including Croatia. Moreover, Talonen has led and conducted numerous research and development projects related to mutual insurance companies and acted as a public speaker and consultant for several insurance companies and financial supervisors. Further, he was one of the main organizers of the first Mutual Insurance Conference held in Tampere, Finland. Among mutual insurance, Talonen’s area of research is focused on the opportunities, enablers, and challenges of digital technology in the insurance and financial sector. He is a member of EIOPA’s expert group on digital ethics in insurance. In addition, Talonen is conducting two EU-funded programs on InsureTech and FinTech, as well as digital services for elderly people. His course on artificial intelligence and insurance at Tampere University is one of the first ones in the world and hugely popular among students.

Jari Stenvall is currently a professor of administrative sciences at the Tampere University. He is an Associate at the University of Oxford and a visiting professor at the University of Glasgow. His areas of research cover the reform and evaluation of public administration, change management, service management, meaningful cities, the utilization of information technology in organizations. His scientific publications include more than 50 monographs, 10 edited works, and more than 70 scientific articles in referenced journals or compilations. His book (together with Petri Virtanen, published by Springer) on Intelligent Health Policy (2018), provides a general overview of intelligence in health policy, health-care organizations, and health services in the light of the current EU digital agenda. Mirka Jozić is the Head of the City Office for Economy, Energetics and Environment Protection operating under the Zagreb City Administration, which is responsible for developing entrepreneurship, reducing unemployment, stimulating investments, developing tourism, operation of companies owned by the City of Zagreb, water management, systematic energy management, environment protection and sustainable waste management, as well as developing the concept of smart city management.
Having graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb, she started her business career at Klariko voće d.o.o. In 2007, she took a job at the Zagrebački holding d.o.o., a large company seated in Zagreb, and in 2010 she became its CFO. Since 2013, she has been in charge of the City Office for Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship, which was adjoined by the City Office for Energetics, Environment Protection and Sustainable Management in 2018.
Mirka Jozić is an expert in accounting, finance, and banking. She specializes in the energy industry, tax policy, and the smart city management platform – the development of the Smart City concept.
In the last few years, she has been particularly involved in issues of financing start-ups in Croatia, innovations, as well as developing measures related to effective waste management. At the Zagreb City Administration, she initiated a number of projects to support the start-up community through establishing the entrepreneurial centre of the City of Zagreb – Plavi ured, establishing a VC fund, constructing the new Technology Park, projects related to utility and water management, and many other projects and measures to support entrepreneurs, attract investments and solve the issue of waste disposal in the City of Zagreb.
Faye Lageu is Senior Vice-President Business Intelligence at the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF), a global trade association with a membership of over 200 insurance organizations in 70 countries, which have combined assets of USD 1.6 trillion.
Faye has over 20 years of experience of helping ICMIF’s members increase their ability to pursue their strategic goals and compete effectively in complex, ever-changing markets. She heads up ICMIF’s Business Intelligence team, which provides ICMIF’s members access to unique market information and tailored global connections. Her own areas of expertise include business strategy, corporate responsibility, and corporate governance.

Paul Koronka, a Law graduate from Oxford University, is the founder and CEO of Regis Mutual Management Ltd in the UK and Chairman of a number of its subsidiaries.

Jakša Krišto is an Assistant Professor at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Economics and Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance in the field of Institutional investors. His main research areas are risk and solvency management, performance measurement, contemporary challenges of the financial sector and institutional investor’s management. He teaches courses Financial institutions and markets, Management of institutional investors and Commercial banking at the Department of Finance. He has been working with different financial institutions in Croatia in the area of his research interest and conducted a number of expert seminars.
